Public Perception and Policy Change

In the aftermath of the 2009‐10 student crisis, Australia-India perceptions are on the mend. The Australian Labor Party's decision to lift its ban on uranium sales to India has opened the door to a new, more positive relationship grounded in converging interests. The Australia India Institute's Public Perceptions and Policy Change Task Force brings together respected figures from diplomacy, government and the media to consider the lessons of recent difficulties in the relationship. The Task Force will make recommendations on how to avoid past mistakes and better project contemporary realities and opportunities for our two nations.
